Gorizzume vs ChatGPTwhich is right for UK graduates in 2026?

ChatGPT is the tool most graduates reach for first, and with reason. It is very good at editing text: rewriting CV bullets, drafting cover letters, and critiquing what you paste or upload. The free tier includes web search and up to 3 file uploads a day, and Plus is £20 a month as shown to UK visitors.

The honest question is not whether ChatGPT is useful (it is) but what a general chatbot cannot do for a structured job hunt. It does not parse your CV the way an applicant tracking system does, it has no application tracker, it is not a jobs index, and it has no connection to the Home Office sponsor register. Here is the fair breakdown, and for many students the right answer is to use both.

What ChatGPT does well

  • Editing and critique of text you provide: OpenAI's own usage research reports that about two thirds of writing requests ask it to modify existing text, which is exactly what CV work is
  • Free tier includes file uploads (3 a day) and web search; the Go tier is £7 a month and Plus is £20 a month with higher limits
  • General purpose: the same subscription also helps with coursework, emails and interview question practice in text

Frequently asked questions

Can ChatGPT check my CV for ATS compatibility?

It can critique your CV usefully, but it cannot run a real ATS check. ChatGPT reads the extracted digital text of an upload and discards images entirely, and no OpenAI page claims it replicates how parsers like Workday or Greenhouse segment a CV. When it says "this will pass ATS", that is an educated guess. A parser-based checker shows you the actual structured output.

Is ChatGPT enough to run a graduate job hunt?

It covers the writing: bullets, cover letters, tailoring advice and text interview practice, and the free tier is genuinely usable for that. What it lacks is the machinery: no application tracker, no jobs index, no ATS parse and no verified sponsor data. Plenty of students pair ChatGPT for drafting with a dedicated toolkit for structure.

What does ChatGPT cost compared with Gorizzume?

ChatGPT is free with limits, £7/month for Go or £20/month for Plus as shown to UK visitors. Gorizzume Pro is £9.99/month. They price similarly but do different jobs: one is a general assistant, the other is a UK job-hunt toolkit with parsing, search, tracking and sponsor data built in. Gorizzume's free ATS check needs no account at all.

Can ChatGPT tell me whether a company sponsors UK visas?

Treat its answer as a starting point, not a fact. The ground truth is the Home Office register of licensed sponsors, a CSV that changes most working days, and ChatGPT has no built-in connection to it, so answers from model memory can be stale or simply wrong. Check the register itself or a directory built on it before ruling a company in or out.
