Trainee Solicitor / Vacation Scheme
How TLT recruits
2029 training contracts filled via the 2027 vacation scheme (applications close 20 December 2026). 3 stages, from TLT's own careers pages, checked 2026-10-03. Test providers are named only where TLT names them.

Assessment centre (half day)
Assessment centre
Half-day assessment centre with a group exercise and an interview. The FAQ adds that assessment centres usually include a strengths-based interview, group task and in-tray exercise.
“Successful applicants will be required to attend a half-day at an assessment centre, comprising a group exercise and interview.”
Paid vacation scheme with assessments
Other stage
The two-week paid scheme is itself part of training contract selection, with assessments including a solution-based group task.
“The paid vacation scheme is part of the assessment process for our SQE training contract and there will be assessments during the scheme, including a solution based group task.”

Visa sponsorship
Trainee Solicitor / Vacation Scheme
TLT accepts trainee applicants who need visa sponsorship, but only some of its offices meet the Skilled Worker salary threshold for new entrants.
“For trainee roles, only some of our locations meet the minimum threshold required for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship if you are classed as a ‘new entrant’ and these thresholds are regularly reviewed by the Government.”

Legal Solicitor Apprenticeship
TLT's six-year Legal Solicitor Apprenticeship takes school leavers from junior paralegal to qualified solicitor, with applications closing 21 February 2027.
